Seosamh Ó Dálaigh began painting in his childhood. He has developed his own unique style from years of studying and perfecting a wide range of techniques. He attended the Crawford School of Art and the Academy of Art in Florence. He is a gifted artist and a wonderful tutor and facilitator. He manages to bring out the creative side in others through his passion and energy.
He has travelled extensively, pursuing an authentic experience of the work of other painters who have inspired him. He has created opportunities to paint and exhibit with a variety of artists. He has produced many works based on his painting experiences in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Sicily and Malta. Some of his favourite artists and biggest influences on his work have been Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. He also painted with John Blockley in the Cotswolds and Derbyshire in England and Snowdonia in Wales.

Since opening the Ó Dálaigh School of Painting he has been able to explore and experiment with his original artistic influences in the beautiful setting of Achill Island and the Curraun Peninsula. His early work concentrated largely on the landscapes and portraits of the scenery/people of Achill and the West of Ireland.

Seosamh thinks of his painting as a way of capturing moments in time and recording history. He has done portraits of friends he has worked with over the years. Whilst taking part in a touring exhibition of Ireland, Seosamh had the pleasure of painting a portrait of renowned artist Derek Hill at his hut on Tory Island, Donegal. He also did sketches of the famous Canadian artist Doris McCarthy when she was visiting the Ó Dálaigh Painting School and ofTony O 'Malley, who spent time on Achill Island.
